Every organisation has them: the repetitive tasks that quietly eat into the working week. Chasing approvals by email. Copying data from one system into another. Sending the same reminder, the same notification, the same report, again and again. Microsoft Power Automate was built to take that work off people’s plates, and with the right training, your team can start building automations that genuinely change how the business runs.
The tool itself is approachable. Getting real, reliable value from it is a different matter. This article explains why structured training makes the difference, and how JBI’s Power Automate training course group takes teams from their first flow to confident, production-ready automation.
Power Automate lets people connect applications and services through connectors, so that work moves between them automatically. For teams already working in Microsoft 365, that means flows that link SharePoint, Teams, Outlook and Forms without writing traditional code.
The benefits show up quickly:
Most teams start by experimenting, and that is a perfectly good way to begin. The trouble comes later. Flows built without a solid grounding tend to be fragile, hard to troubleshoot and difficult for anyone else to maintain. Without an understanding of triggers, expressions, error handling and testing, small problems turn into broken processes at the worst possible moment.
Structured training closes that gap. It gives everyone on the team a shared way of building, so flows are consistent, documented and dependable, and so that the people who built them are confident enough to fix them.
One of the strengths of JBI’s approach is that Power Automate training is not a one-size-fits-all day in a classroom. The Power Automate course group is a complete pathway covering cloud flows, desktop automation (RPA), Microsoft 365 integration and the wider Power Platform, from beginner through to advanced. Teams can start where they are and progress as their needs grow.
The Power Automate training course is the foundation. It introduces the Power Automate platform, walks through flows in action, and shows how connectors let you integrate with other Microsoft applications and services. By the end, delegates can create and configure cloud flows to automate everyday business processes and understand the dashboard well enough to keep building on their own.
This is the right starting point for teams who are new to Power Automate, or who have been experimenting informally and want to put their skills on a firm footing.
Once the fundamentals are in place, Power Automate – Beyond the Basics takes teams into more powerful territory. The course covers triggers, actions, approvals, variables, attachments and advanced flow features, using practical scenarios such as training sign-ups with approval flows and automated notifications, and filtering calendar events to send training invites.
This course assumes delegates have completed the introduction or have similar experience. It is ideal for people who already build simple flows and are ready to design more sophisticated, more reliable automations, including IT professionals who want a robust tool to add to their skill set.
Not every task lives in the cloud. The Forms, Cloud & Desktop Power Automate course brings together Microsoft Forms, cloud flows and desktop flows (robotic process automation). Delegates learn how to capture data with Forms, process it with cloud flows, and extend automation to desktop tasks using Power Automate Desktop.
If your team deals with legacy applications, repetitive desktop work or processes that cross the boundary between cloud and desktop, this is the course that closes the gap.
Power Automate is strongest when it works alongside the rest of the Power Platform. The Power Platform Deep Dive course introduces Microsoft Power Platform as a whole, including building canvas apps in Power Apps, working with Power Automate and Dataverse for Teams, using expressions in Power Automate, and getting to grips with the Power Automate admin centre. It also covers documenting and testing Power Apps, which is the kind of discipline that keeps solutions maintainable.
This course suits teams who want to build complete solutions, not just individual flows, and those responsible for managing and governing automation across the organisation.
For teams who collect information through Microsoft Forms and want to turn it into insight, the course group also includes Microsoft Forms Data in Power BI. It completes the loop from data capture, to automation, to reporting.
JBI delivers its Power Automate courses at its London centre, onsite at your offices, or online with remote attendance, so teams can train in the way that suits them. For organisations that want something more specific, JBI also offers bespoke training built around your own processes, tools and goals. That means your team practises on the kinds of workflows they will actually build when they return to work.
